There are some grasses, though, that are specifically grown for the ornamental value of their seed heads. This is a relatively small one, growing in a small bed near the older parking garage next to one of the buildings across campus. I was there all day for a class (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week) but had a chance to get out during our lunch break. I also found some oriental bittersweet (<em>Celastrus orbiculatus<\/em>), an invasive species similar to our native American bittersweet (<em>C. scandens<\/em>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We often don&#8217;t pay a lot of attention to grass that&#8217;s gone to seed.
