The leaves are falling and covering the ground with shades of red, yellow, orange, and eventually brown. This is under the red maple (<em>Acer rubrum<\/em>) in out back yard. Maples are among some of the best large trees for fall color. I need to walk to the other end of the neighborhood where there is a yard with a nice collection of Japanese maples (<em>Acer palmatum<\/em>). Those are some of the prettiest trees in our neighborhood, handsome throughout the year but especially nice in the fall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Autumn is here and the trees are turning their autumn colors.
