We bought lunch at Joppa Fine Foods, where Dorothy worked for the first six months of Covid but sadly didn&#8217;t get to meet her boss, who wasn&#8217;t there today. Then we drove out onto Plum Island. At our first stop on the island we saw quite a few common sandpipers (<em>Actitis hypoleucos<\/em>) in the shallows on the inland side of the island. There were also swans, but quite a bit further away. The last time we were on Plum Island it was in the upper 90s and really humid.
