It was quite hot and there was no breeze to speak of. We heard a few birds, but mostly cardinals and robins with an occasional wren. I took pictures of a few plants and one of this ebony jewelwing (<em>Calopteryx maculata<\/em>). They are quite common in the shady, humid creek-beds around us.
