The sunflowers were starting to fade, although there were still quite a few in bloom. It wasn&#8217;t the prime birding hour, being there around noon, but we did see a few birds, including this indigo bunting (<em>Passerina cyanea<\/em>). Regardless, it was good to be outdoors on such a lovely day, especially with all that&#8217;s been going on this week with Cathy and Jim&#8217;s mom dying and then the burial yesterday. There&#8217;s a lot to be done to get ready for the funeral next month, but we needed to take a short break and just enjoy the outdoors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cathy, Jim, and I went to McKee-Beshers late this morning.
