I took a few pictures of it standing in the water but knew that as soon as I tried to get any closer it would take off. So, instead of trying to get closer, I got ready for its take off and asked Cathy to walk a little towards the water. I&#8217;m often unhappy with pictures i get of herons taking off, usually because I don&#8217;t get them at the right moment.
