Clematis Seeds

We didn’t really have much planned for today. We stopped at church to drop off my backdrop that was needed for an event this Saturday. Then we headed downtown to go to Theodore Roosevelt Island. Because of construction on the beltway we took Canal Road, but of course that was slow, as well, but eventually we made it. There weren’t a lot of folks out on the island, because it was pretty cold, but it was a nice walk. We saw a flock of red-winged blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus) in a tree and a few mallards (Anas platyrhynchos). I was more interested in the winter plants, including these seed pods or whatever on what I believe is a Clematis of some kind. It is fairly abundant on the island and may, of course, be an invasive, but it’s pretty, I think.
