Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus)

This was taken the same day as my previous post. We’re now at the cabin and this was taken in Dorothy’s front garden. It’s a spicebush swallowtail (Papilio troilus), which is fairly common in our area. Not seen as much as the eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus), but still fairly common. In the evening we went into Gettysburg to hear Jeff’s band playing at Michaux, just south of the square. We didn’t stay for their whole gig, because we still had to drive home and didn’t want to be out quite that late.
