Cathy, Jim, and I went to McKee-Beshers late this morning. The sunflowers were starting to fade, although there were still quite a few in bloom. It wasn’t the prime birding hour, being there around noon, but we did see a few birds, including this indigo bunting (Passerina cyanea). Regardless, it was good to be outdoors on such a lovely day, especially with all that’s been going on this week with Cathy and Jim’s mom dying and then the burial yesterday. There’s a lot to be done to get ready for the funeral next month, but we needed to take a short break and just enjoy the outdoors.
