Dorothy and Jeff were able to stay here for an extended visit this year, which was lovely. Today we drove out to McKee-Beshers for a walk that ended up being about 31⁄4 miles. I took my camera and long lens with me and got a few photos of northern flickers (Colaptes auratus) but otherwise, no birds. I heard a lot and saw a few, but not well enough for photos. We made our way to the C&O Canal and the Potomac River and this is a view across the Potomac with sycamore trees in Virginia. We’re looking between Van Deventer and Tenfoot Islands to the Horsepen Run Nature Preserve
